Our father rose out of humble childhood in a small hamlet in South Vietnam. He won scholarships to study at the "Haute Etude Commercial", a prestigious university in Paris, France, then on to Marquette University in Milwaukie, WI, where he earned a
Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He went on to earn a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota, in Minneapolis, MN.
Upon his return to native Vietnam, our father worked for ESSO, at positions of increasing responsibilities. In his last civil position, he oversaw the entire operation of receiving and distributing fuel for the US Army positioned throughout Central Vietnam.
Our father was drafted into and became a commissioned officer of the Army of the Republic of Vietnam. After an assignment with the Army Corp of Engineers, he was appointed professor of civil engineering at the Military Academy of the Republic of Vietnam. Later, He was assigned to a position reporting directly to the Minister of Economic Planning and Development.
Throughout his life, our father led by examples. He always put the needs of his family in front of his own. He inspired us to try harder and better ourselves, through actions and education.
Our beloved father is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters-in-law, 4 grandchildren, a granddaughter-in-Iaw, and a grandson-in-Iaw.
Public Visitation will be at 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM and Rosary and Prayer Service (in Vietnamese) will be from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Friday 15th January 2016 at:

Funeral Mass will be held (in Vietnamese only) at 10:00 AM on Saturday 2nd January 2016 at: Holy Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church. He will be laid to rest at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, TX after the Funeral Mass.
