Mr. Pham Dinh Dam was born on January 27, 1955, in Vinh Ninh, Northern Vietnam. He passed away on the morning of September 4, 2023, at the age of 68. He was the son of Mr. Vincente Pham Dinh Thuan and Mrs. Maria Dang Thi Nhuyên, both of whom have passed away.
Mr. Dam was admired by his family and friends for his gentle, diligent, loving, and selfless nature. He devoted himself to his own family in Austin and his extended family in Vietnam. He attended Don Bosco School in Go Vap during his elementary and high school years and later pursued his education at Thu Duc University of Technology. He was known for his friendly and cheerful demeanor, always ready to help his friends and colleagues.
In 1982, he married Mrs. Teresa Nguyen Thi Le Anh, and they had a son, Pham Nguyen Bao, who has since started his own family and has two grandsons, Kaiden and Nolan. In 1990, he, along with his wife and son, immigrated to the United States under the family reunification program and settled in Austin. They engaged in business activities and remained active in the Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church community. Mr. Dam was also a member of the Sacred Heart Alliance, the Scripture Reading Committee, and a Knight in the Knights of Columbus.
He lived an exemplary life, marked by his gentleness, diligence, and dedication. Unfortunately, he was afflicted with the cruel disease of lung cancer over four years ago. After years of battling the illness, he took his last breath at the MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas, surrounded by the love of his beloved wife and family.
