Heaven gained its most precious angel Wednesday evening as Peggy passed away at home surrounded by family, friends and the love she spent her entire life creating & holding dear. Born here in Austin, she lived in various places before residing once again in Austin; where she spent the rest of her life. A high school graduate with college under her belt, she worked at Hastings Phone Answering Service, later became a Data Entry worker at the State Comptroller's Office of Texas; where she retired from after many years of service.
If you met her once, you never forgot her and she never forgot you. Anyone who came in contact with her could feel the utter peace and love flowing so deeply within her. She married and had 3 children; the absolute joys of her life. She later remarried the love of her life, and stayed married until his untimely death in 2013.
She found even more joy as she became a grandmother, then great-grandmother (not to mention the countless people she considered her kids, as those same people came to see her as a second Mom). Nothing was more precious to her than family, and she showed it every second of her life. Her heart was pure and full of love, kindness and beauty for family, friends and strangers alike. Words cannot express how much we will miss you, Mom. You're the heart of this family and you always will be.
Peggy was preceded in death by her mother, Bessie Westfield; her son, Brent Preece; and her husband Wayne Miller.
She is survived by her daughter, Holly Clouse; son, Tod Preece; grandsons, Joshua Preece, Brandon Camp, Donivan Preece and Harrison Preece; granddaughters, Audrey Wade and Jessica Monroy, and an ever-growing number of great-grandkids.
