Oliver Lavon Keen, born the son of Adam Columbus Keen and Lula May , on April 11, 1929, in Union, Mississippi. Oliver was the oldest of five children. Oliver and Joyce raised Deborah, Kimberly, Michael and Christopher. Oliver and Joyce lost their son Michael to Niemann Pick's disease at the age of 2. Oliver’s love for Joyce and his family helped their marriage survive until Joyce passed away on March 12, 2021, after 68 years of dedication. Oliver was a loving husband and father, extremely dedicated to his family and friends.
Oliver served his country by enlisting in the Army Air Corps which later became the United States Air Force in 1945 and retired in 1967 at Bergstrom AFB. Oliver then went to work for TABC where he worked until he retired. Oliver loved to watch sports, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. There were few places that Oliver would rather be than on the lake reeling in a fish.
Oliver was preceded in death by his mother and father, brother Joseph, wife Joyce and son Michael.
Oliver is survived by: daughter Deborah and her husband Michael Laport; daughter Kimberly and her husband Tommy Conner; son Christopher and his wife Helena Keen; Grandchildren - Lisa Favre, Shaun Conner, Cooper Keen, Chance Keen, Talen Myers and Vance Myers; Great Grandchildren - Conner Favre, Makaelah Favre, Jack Conner, Oliver Conner, Everett Conner, and Kennedy Conner.
