Anita “Nita” Marie Kalmus Seidenberger, 87, of Round Rock, Texas, (formerly of Taylor, Texas) passed away June 27, 2021. She was born on September 25, 1933, in Schulenburg, Texas, to Julius and Annie Kalmus. She had one brother, Julius Charles (JC). She married the love of her life, Robert (Bob) Earl Seidenberger, on April 23, 1952, and set sail on many life adventures. After retiring from the Navy in 1970, they settled in Austin, Texas. The family spent many weekends at the lake or camping and always had several of their children’s friends in tow. Nita worked at Sacred Heart Catholic School as a teacher’s aid and then cafeteria manager, providing spiritual and physical nourishment to many. In 1994, they moved to Taylor, Texas, and enjoyed retirement on the ponderosa. They shared 67 years together until his passing in 2019. Nita then became a resident at SPJST Assisted Living in Taylor, Texas. In March 2020 when COVID caused restricted visits, she and her children made the decision for her to move in with her daughter, Debi, in Round Rock, Texas, where she could still enjoy family visits.
Family was her life; she was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She loved to sew, cook, bake or just piddle around. In recent years she enjoyed a good game of dominoes or bingo, loved to watch her game shows, looked forward to her evening foot spa and treated herself often to a pretty-in-pink manicure. Her Catholic faith was important to her and she always had her rosary in hand when praying at bedtime.
Nita was preceded in death by her husband, Bob, in 2019, and son, David, in 1969. Those left to honor her are her children, Pam and husband Ken, Debi, Russell and wife Paige, Mark and wife Brenda, Juli, Jill and husband Jay, 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Visitation and funeral services will be held at Cook-Walden Davis Funeral Home in Georgetown, Texas. Visitation will be June 30, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be July 1, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
The family wishes to thank SPJST Assisted Living for providing a caring environment and also to Traditions Hospice for the special care and support they provided to us and our mother during her final days.
