Minnie Rose Crews Lawson

Minnie lost her parents at a young age and was raised in the Methodist Children's Home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She graduated Salutatorian of her graduating class from R.J. Reynolds High School, Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Minnie met and married her husband Robert J. Lawson in 1952 in Gatun Canal Zone.

She is a retiree of The Civil Service. She and Bob lived in Austin, Texas for 37 years before retiring to Polk City, Florida. Minnie then returned to Pflugerville, Texas to live with her daughter Patti and her husband Alvin who lovingly took care of her.

She was preceded in death by loving husband, Robert J. Lawson, her parents, James Efriam and Auttie (Burnette) Crews and two brothers Rufus Burnette of Panama Canal Zone and Joseph Clarence Crews of Ashland, Kentucky.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Lawson of Taylor, Texas and Patricia Arlene Powell (Alvin) of Pflugerville, Texas; eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Minnie will be missed by all.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, April 21, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery, all located in Pflugerville, Texas.
