Mildred Jean Gehrke

Jean married Robert William Gehrke in 1950. They were married for 43 years until his death in 1993. Together they raised a devoted son, John Robert and a loving daughter, Lisa Jean.

Jean worked for the University of Texas Engineering Department for more than 30 years as a draftsman. She also enjoyed serving as a volunteer at the LBJ Library for over a decade. She loved being artistic and enjoyed painting, coloring and long walks.

She was a faithful servant of God and touched many with her kindness and gentle nature.

Jean is survived by John Gehrke and Jennifer Kunz, Dennis and Lisa Smith, Barney and Christine Groves, Bobby Coe, Jimmy and Sue Sansom, cousins, nephews, nieces and many friends.

Jean was blessed with adoring grandchildren and was known affectionately as "Grancie".

Grandchildren: Taylor and Kelli Dunn, Jared Dunn and fiancee Alicia Jones, Travis Dunn and Jianna Flores, Jaden Smith, Andru Smith, Courtney Smith and Travis Watson, Austin and Shayla Smith, Chase Smith and Kat Johnson.

Jean was preceded in death by Robert Coe, Blanche Coe Sansom, William Gehrke, Roy Sansom, Emmett and Lucille Sansom, Norman and Mary Sansom, Carroll and Clara Sansom, Dorothy and Oliver Crane, Virginia Coe, Otto Fred and Edna Gehrke, Roy and Mary L. Gehrke, Mary K. Gehrke, Fred and Ann Gehrke and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 17, 2022 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A committal will follow the service at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
