Mike Pavia, age 69, passed away on May 25, 2024 in Austin, Texas. A father, a brother, a son, an uncle and a friend to many who loved him very dearly.
Formerly married to Becky Pavia, the mother of both his daughters, he valued and enjoyed family life. He was a printer by trade and an avid sports fan. He was no stranger to music and loved to share his live music experiences with anyone willing to lend an ear. Animal lover and a fan of all things water related, you could find him and his dogs swimming in the cold river waters in San Marcos, Texas.
He is survived by his daughters and sons in-law, Roxanne (married to Michael Lucio) and Yvonne (married to DeJuian "DJ" Norris); as well as his brothers and sisters, Daniel Baladez, Larry Pavia, Herman Pavia, Sam Baladez, Rachel Flores, Yvonne Flores, Yvette Flores, Diana Cortez, Clara Soto and Linda Cortez. In addition, he is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and of course his fur babies, Manu (pug) and Chuco (terrier).
Mike is preceded in death by his beloved mother, Carolina Flores and his father Gus Pavia, Sr.; his brothers, Felix Cortez, Gus Pavia II, Henry Valadez and other family who have passed on before him.
Our Dad fought the good fight battling renal failure in his later years but remained tenacious and vigilant in his health journey. Daddy--you will be missed more than you know.
A visitation for Mike will be held Sunday, June 2, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, with a rosary prayer service following at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service celebrating Mike's life will be held on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
