Melissa was born to Beth & Boots Brymer on February 15, 1962, and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, after a sudden and unexpected illness, on September 16, 2010 at the age of 48 years, 7 months and 1 day, at Seton Medical Center in Austin, Texas. Oddly enough, she had come into this world at Seton Hospital, the original Seton built in 1902.
Melissa is survived by her husband of 30 years, Paul and her sons, Marc and David, all of Austin; and her brother, James Brymer and his wife Patsy of Thorndale. She is a also survived by several aunts and uncles, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a host of friends and brothers/sisters in Christ.
She was preceded to Glory by her parents, Beth and Boots Brymer; sisters, Diane Brymer, who died in infancy, and Phyllis Dennis, who passed away at age 44 years.
Melissa was a dedicated Christian, a loving wife and mother that home schooled her boys. In recent years she had led her family in a lifestyle change to become more healthy.
She served her churches as an Administrative Assistant and Multi-Media Director. She was a feisty little sister, a loving aunt, compassionate friend, and tireless mentor. As one friend recently said of her, “tell Melissa, she’ll do it”, whatever “it” might have been.
With grateful hearts we say THANK YOU to the Administration and ALL the Doctors and Nurses of the Seton ICU, who fought so valiantly on her behalf and gave her such gentle and tender care.
Memorial services celebrating Melissa’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 25, 2010 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville.
Melissa did not care for flowers, as they always faded and died. However, in lieu of flowers, gifts to help defer hospital costs would be appreciated.
You are invited to share your memories of Melissa with her family at www.cookwaldencapitalparks.com.
