Maxine Magdalene Davis of Georgetown, Texas, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, mother-in-law, aunt and friend passed peacefully from this life on May 16, 2015 at the age of 88. The world has truly lost a gentle soul. She was a friendly and loving person who never met a stranger.
Maxine was born in Fredericksburg, Texas on January 30, 1927 to Roman and Elizabeth (Libby) Peter. She graduated from St. Mary’s Catholic School and in 1944 Maxine went on to attend Santa Rosa School of Nursing in San Antonio, Texas and graduated in 1949 with a degree in nursing. Her Registered Nurse experience was working for many years at the Fredericksburg Hospital and Clinic as an O.B./Surgery and floor nurse. She also in later years worked at Sid Peterson Hospital in Kerrville, Texas and Uvalde Hospital in Uvalde, Texas.
Maxine and her husband Charles were married on October 20, 1956 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with a reception at the family owned historic Peter Dance Hall in Fredericksburg. After living in Kerrville and Uvalde, they retired to Georgetown, Texas to be closer to family. Maxine joined St. Helen’s Catholic Church where she volunteered frequently. Maxine loved gardening, traveling, but most of all she loved spending time with her family. Her family and friends will live on with the wonderful memories of unconditional love and her peaceful and loving personality.
Maxine leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Sue and husband Marc of Round Rock, Lynne and husband Tommy of Grand Prairie, Mary and husband Weldon of Giddings, and Cheryl and husband Tommy of Round Rock; eight grandchildren, Kellie (Jason), Keith, Travis (Chelsea), Elizabeth, Wesley (Kristina), Tyler (Magen), Trent and Libby; four great-grand children, Rylen, Tatum, Audrey and Lainey; twin sister, Margaret Enderlin; brother, Edward Peter; sisters-in-law, Ikey Peter and Betty Davis; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Charles Davis; her mother and father; parents-in-law, Albert and Elizabeth Davis; sisters-in-law, Juanita Peter and Rosemary Mumford; and brothers-in-law, Max Enderlin, James Davis and Nicholas Mumford.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church with burial following at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
