Mary Ann R. Decker left for her Heavenly home on Tuesday, July 9, 2013, after courageously battling cancer. She was born on July 13, 1937 in Coney Island Hospital, Brooklyn, New York. She graduated from Poughkeepsie High School in 1955.
Among her many talents, she also worked as a Key Punch Operator and then graduated from Programming School at IBM in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. and worked at IBM for 30 years before retiring in February 1992. She also worked for JC Penny and Williamson County Probation Department. Mary Ann moved to Texas in January 1981. She was very involved in the following organization: Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star in Leander/ Chapter# 73, Past High Priestess of Ladies' Oriental Shrine, Ben Hur Court #91, Austin, member of the Daughters of the Nile, Rub Neb Temple #64, Austin, member of Ladies Social Order of the Beauceant Assembly #125, Austin. She volunteered at Round Rock Medical Center in Round Rock, several knitting and quilting groups, and a member of St. Margaret Mary Church in Cedar Park.
She is preceded in death by her parents Catherine Byrnes Tozzi and Arthur Tozzi and younger sister Chippy Jesionek.
She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Gordon N. Decker; sons, Kevan M. Decker and Gordon E. Decker and wife Rosemary Decker; grandson, Julian S. Pedraza; great-granddaughters, Juliana Ramirez and Hayli Ramirez; and sister, Barbara May Lapolt.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Cook-Walden/ Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville.
