Martha Gebauer Wray “Susie” of Hutto, Texas and previously of Pflugerville, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 14, at the age of 85. Susie was born to John Gebauer, Sr. and Marie Schwinge Gebauer on August 24, 1936 in Austin, Texas.
Susie is preceded in death by her parents, John Gebauer, Sr. and Marie Gebauer, husband Robert Wray, sister Lou Ella Sieckmann; and her step-sons, Michael Bailey and Bobby Wray.
Susie graduated with Honors from Manor High School in 1954 and went on to Nixon Clay College, Austin, TX while working at Krueger Jewelry on Congress Ave. She was also employed by JM Odom in the late sixties as a secretary and later went to work for the State of Texas, General Service Commission, were she retired August 25, 1994 after 25 years of service. Susie married Robert Wray on February 19, 1981 and remained married until his death on May 24, 1992.
Susie loved many things including: photography, chocolate, baking, collecting cook books, reading, sewing, listening to country and western music, royal oreo blizzards, dining out, going to estate sales, collecting all things musical and she lived life to the fullest. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Susie is survived by her brother, John Gebauer Jr. and wife Patricia of Manor, TX; brother-in-law, Carlton Sieckmann of Doss, TX; nephews, Mitchell Sieckmann (Ginni), of Doss, TX, and Travis Loftin (Agusta) of Kyle, TX; nieces, Brenda Sieckmann of Doss, TX and Melissa Williamson (Ronnie) of Georgetown , TX; step-daughter, Judy Bailey (Shelia) of Utopia, TX; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Susie is also survived by her life long friend, Betty Davis of Pflugerville, TX and all of the members Prinz families.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to “Our Serenity House”, Hutto, TX and Heart to Heart Hospice, Austin, TX.
A visitation will be on February 22, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, followed by a graveside service at 2:00 p.m at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
