Mark was an Air Force Veteran and loved his Country.
He enjoyed many adventures traveling all over Europe and across the U.S. with Pamela, but a surprise trip to Washington D.C. may have been his favorite. It was a paramount experience for him to see Arlington National Cemetery and the Korean War Memorial, as both of their fathers had served in that war.
Mark was the Founder of Americraft Siding and Windows of Pflugerville which was his life's work for over 17 years.
Being an incredible fitness enthusiast, he loved to challenge himself from being a certified scuba diver to competing in an AT&T Austin Marathon, Freescale Austin Marathon, Motivate Bison Stampede Half Marathon, 3M Half Marathon, RunTex 20, Turkey Trots, Survive Thrive Prevent 5K, Bike MS: Texas MS150, Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and Lake Pflugerville Triathlon just to name a few.
24 hours was never enough time in a day for Mark; he enjoyed life to the fullest. His family knew he loved them deeply and cherished every minute spent with them.
He is survived by his loving wife, Pamela of Pflugerville, Texas; his amazing children, Mark Thomas, Steven, and Amy, of Austin, Texas; granddaughter, Penelope “Penny”, step-daughter, Lauren (Kevin) of Pflugerville, Texas; and brother, Mel (Jennifer) of Arizona. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin, his mother, Dora, as well as his brother, Michael.
Mark was passionate about being an organ donor. He was the first donor at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center in Round Rock, Texas. His organ donations provided the immediate “Gift of Life” for 3 people and other organs will be utilized for research. He was honored by the amazing hospital staff, along with TOSA (Texas Organ Sharing Alliance) staff, many friends, and family with an “Honor Walk” on Friday before passing peacefully surrounded by his family.
His funeral will be held at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home on June 30th, 2024, at 3 pm followed by a “Celebration of a Life Very Well Lived.”
