I just recently learned of my cousin's passing away.  I have many, many fond memories as a child heading up north in Michigan to visit my Uncle Bob and Aunt Darlene's home to play with my cousins.  Mark was not quite a year younger than me, but I remember swimming, climbing trees, playing in the woods with Mark, his brother Craig and my brother Greg.  I always looked forward to summer vacation in northern Michigan where my our grandparents lived on Burt Lake.  I was sorry to hear of Marks,s passing.  My deepest sympathies to his entire family. I do not remember the exact day I met Mark Carpenter, but I do remember the warmth of his smile, how his laughter would fill an entire room and his willingness to help anyone who needed it. Mark's easy going manner made him a friend to many. Mark worked hard, played hard and loved his family.  He was a good man and will be sorely missed.  The world is a lesser place without him.

I am sad that my Uncle Mark is gone. I have strong memories of him from my childhood. The first couple of years my parents (Craig-his brother-and Dorothy) were married, he spent a lot of time hanging around with us. He was a constant presence in my life in those two years. He was a fun guy, loved his family, and was fiercely loyal to all of us. The Uncle Mark I remember was a big teddy-bear of a man, who just took everything in stride and always had a smile. I will truly miss him....

My brother was a kind, loving man whom I will miss dearly. I have many great memories but the ones I have been thinking of lately are the times when Mark, his father-in-law, and I would get together and go fishing at Sleepy Hollow.  He also was very protective of his family. One time Eric and I were laying bricks on a wall and the foreman on the job was giving us a hard time. Mark came over and said "come on, we're leaving! We don't have to put up with this." Mark always took care of his family no matter what!  Love you brother!

I was saddened to hear of Mark's passing.  He was always so nice, genuine and sincere. I'm honored to have had the opportunity to work with and know him.

The service was very nice and brought back great memories of Mark. The stories that were brought up proves that Mark was one of a kind. A gentle giant that lived life to the fullest with a deep love for his family and friends. He will be missed immensely , but we will all hope that we are fortunate to see him in God's Kingdom. RIP Mark.

Papa was a good man.  We lived next to him for 2 years. Our  Alyssa would nick named papa the Hulk in sign language. He helped us out through tough times and he was always gentle. My dad and Papa would stay outside playing cards or dominos for hours while drinking. Papa would always tell his stories as a prison guard and when he was in the service. Even after we moved we always had him in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss you papa. Jane and Anne we are sorry for your loss. Our prayers are with you and your family. Words can't express the pain and sorrow of losing Mark. He had an unconditional love for everyone. He was always there for me when I needed help. He was a very wise man who had a way of putting life in perspective. He always found something to laugh about in life and his laugh was infectious! My heart aches. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone today.

I am saddened to hear of Mark's passing. He was a co-worker that had a positive attitude and you knew he always had your back. May God bless and comfort his family during this difficult time.

My brother Mark was always someone I could speak freely with and share life experiences with. Our conversations always had laughs, even in the seriousness of life circumstances. He help me keep life in a perspective balance. I love him very much and he will always be in my heart forever. The lord now has you and has wiped away all your physical pain. Love you forever.

Mark's smile, wonderful personality and humor will always be remembered. keeping his family in my thoughts and prayers as they go through this very difficult time.

Mark will be missed greatly. He was a gentle man with an infectious sense of humor. Nothing got in Mark's way. I carried a small ammo can with most tools necessary to get the job done, and often had to return to the shop for more tools. Mark seldom had that problem. He would push (big red) a 400 pound tool box on wheels. Where I would use a chisel, Mark would use a cutting torch. When I first started working with Mark he sat down at the work bench and took the screws out of a lock than proceeded to dump the entire contents of about 50 parts on the bench and asked me to assemble the lock. I thought he was out of his mind, but I assembled the lock and never forgot how. Mark smiled the whole time. I did the same thing to my replacement Jim. Mark was a great mentor, coworker, and friend. Many will him remember as Santa. He really seemed to enjoy playing Santa for the children's Christmas party. Perhaps many children will not remember Mark's name but they will always remember the big happy Santa. Mark's body may have given out but he will always remain alive in our hearts and memories. No one needs to worry about that lock on heavens gate. Mark will find a dozer and be smiling all the way in.

Mark's locksmiths skills will not be needed to get into heaven, the door will be wide open!  A good man to have worked with. May peace be with you and your family.

As I hear of the loss of one of my SORT Brothers from years past and a Co worker, I reflect on his loyalty, respect, and dignity he brought to our Team and work place. Mark was a true brother and his family's loss is our loss. I must remember not to mourn our loss but to celebrate the life and time he shared with us. My prayers go out to his family and all who shared in his life. And I say to Mark till we meet again brother!

Uncle Mark had a huge heart!!  He reminded me of Grandma Carpenter, his mother.. HE was a big teddy bear and I loved bragging that he was my Uncle that lived in Texas...  May he find everything he believed in.. He will always be loved!!

Sorry to hear of his passing, enjoyed the years I had to work with him. He was always upbeat and a jovial coworker and committed to his work.  God rest his soul.

Big Dog, it was a privilege and an honor to have known you and worked alongside of you.  After all these years, your words, You've got to want this, still motivate and drive me in the gym.
