Lidia was born on July 18, 1938 in Kyle, TX to Manuel Deleon, Sr. and Francisca (Mercado) Deleon. She was the heart of this family and lived a full life. She always gave everything for her kids, and grandchildren. She made sure the entire family never went without, even if it meant she went without. On July 15, 1956 she married Mack H. Loera and accepted a position at Zilker Park in the janitorial department. Then, a few years later, she took a position as the only waitress, working side by side with her husband at the Original Shady Grove BBQ. From there she took a position at Farmers Insurance Group as Food Hostess, then moved up to a Farmers Insurance File clerk position. She then later retired with 15 years of service, never missing a day work and earned a Perfect Attendance Award. She volunteered to watch her Great-Grandchildren and made sure they always had something to eat after school. There was never a time she did not make sure she had Potato and Egg Tacos ready for the entire family before they headed off to work or school. Lidia called her family every night to check on them and would talk for hours before saying goodnight and I love you 10 times, then hang up. She was a woman of faith and prayed the Rosary every night for her family and friends. Lidia loved her plants and rose bushes and would always say you had to talk to them to make sure they stayed alive and bloomed the biggest Roses. She was proud of her family and always gave her advice on life. She cared for all her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a wife, mother, a grandmother, caregiver, nurturer, story teller, lovable, hard worker, always saw the best in her family, and an extraordinary woman.
