Leroy Davis, Jr.

Leroy accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a dedicated and faithful member of Del Valle Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Leroy attended Norma Del Valle ISD and was also a part of the first African American baseball team.

Left behind to cherish Leroy’s memory is his adopted children, Alonza York and Roxanne York, three sisters: Lily Neal (Marvin), Gracie Davis, and Shirley McArthur (Henry), three brothers: Gene Davis (Bertha), Pete Davis (JoAnn), and Willie Davis. Preceding him in death is his parents, his wife of 55 years, Mary Davis-Jowe, Huey Davis, Margaret, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 26, 2019 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Cottonwood Baptist Church in Del Valle, Texas with Pastor Nathaniel Cook officiating followed by a graveside service in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
