Leonor Juarez Soto, age 93, born in Campbellton, Texas and longtime resident of Austin, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family, when she embarked on her journey to eternal life on Friday, April 5, 2024.
She was a remarkable soul who graced our lives with her wisdom, love, and unwavering strength. Across the span of her career, she was most proud of her 29 years of service at Motorola where she built many long-lasting friendships.
Born on August 1, 1930, she lived a life that touched countless hearts and left an enduring mark on our family. She was the beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and the matriarch of our family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Manuela Juarez Sr.; siblings Bertha Mitchell, Victoria Juarez, Elena Sanchez, Domingo Juarez, Jr.; Virginia Carmona; Mary Samaniego; daughter Belinda Gongora; grandson Xavier Ozuna; and son-in-law Jose Castillo. She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Guzman and Cecilia Castillo of Austin; grandchildren, Sonia Gongora, Selina Ozuna (Joseph Gutierrez), Michael Ozuna, Deseray Buentello, Sister Michelle Marie Ozuna; Melissa Rodriguez, Isaac Buentello, Nathan Beltran, and Nichole Gauna. Great-grandchildren, Michael Gabrieal, Alyssa, Deserai, Oscar Jr., Danielle, Caden, Elias, Abigail, and Aiden. Great-great grandchildren, Natalia, Kevin, and Delilah. She is also survived by siblings, Benito Juarez, Alberto Juarez, and Ester Ramirez.
The family will receive friends at 5:00 p.m., followed by recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, April 11, 2024, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 10000 David Moore Dr, Austin, TX, with Father Johnson Nellissery, Celebrant. Committal service will follow at 12:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas. Honoring Ms. Soto as pallbearers will be Michael, Joseph, Isaac, Nathan, Oscar Jr., Jorge and honorary pallbearer, Aiden.
