

After 25 years of farming, Lawrence moved his wife and family to the Austin area in 1952. From 1952 until his retirement, he owned and operated a used car business. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Elgin, TX and was an inspiration to all who knew him.
His wife Goldie of 70 years preceded him in death. He is survived by two daughters, Shirley A. Smith and husband Jim, and Linda V. McKee and husband David; six grandchildren, Lawrence Smith, Gary Smith, Byron Smith, Pam Choate, Tracie Janes and Ronn McKee; twelve great grandchildren, Clint and Lauren Choate, Brandon Janes, Brad and Jordyn McKee, Lance, Vickie & Chad Smith, Kevin Smith, Nicholas, Blake & Grant Smith; and seven great-great grandchildren, Adyn, Mason & Ethan Janes, Bailey, Tyler and Natalie Smith and Colton Smith, numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and many friends.
The family gives special thanks to Dr. Thomas Carlson and Dr. Elena Slavcheva and all the Seton Medical Center Austin third floor medical staff for the loving and professional care given to our father and grandfather.
Visitation will be between 4 and 6 p.m., Sunday, April 17,2011 at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, TX. Funeral Services will be 1 p.m., Monday, April 18, 2011 at the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home with burial following the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
