

Mrs. Kitzy Michelle Burnett Daniels was born to Mattie Jean Harrison Burnett DeWalt and Levi DeWalt Sr. on August 2, 1962, in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Sam Houston High School in 1980 and was a member of the drill team. In 1986, she graduated from the University of Texas at Austin earning a degree in History, taking many math and Spanish classes, and as a first-generation college student. In college, she was a proud member of the Alpha Angels, the little sister organization of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
She began her career in Court Administration at the City of Austin Municipal Court in 1986. She became a Fellow with the National Center for State Courts Institute of Court Management Program and earned the equivalent of a master’s degree. In 2013, she retired from Municipal Court after over 26 years of employment. In the same year, she began working at Travis County Justice of the Peace Precinct One as the Court Administrator/Clerk of the Court.
On November 20, 1990, she was united in holy matrimony to Mr. Kenneth Don Daniels and they both share two children, Riley Synclaire Daniels and Rusty Nicholas Daniels. She remained rooted in her faith her entire life.
She was a member of multiple organizations including the Manor Lions Club, Toastmasters, Manor Athletic Complex bond package committee co-chair with spouse, and block walked to earn enough votes to approve establishment of Manor New Technology High School where former President Barack Obama visited. Also, she was a notary public, paralegal, and member of the American Federation of State, County, and Municipal Employees.
Kitzy is predeceased in death by her parents; sisters: Beverly Lynn Harrison, Gwendolyn Burnett-Coleman; brothers: Thomas Edward Burnett Sr., Kelvin Earl Burnett, and Patrick Eugene DeWalt.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her husband: Kenneth Don Daniels; Children: Riley Synclaire Daniels (Albuquerque, NM) and Rusty Nicholas Daniels (Manor, TX); Sister: Cheryl A. Lewis (Houston, TX); Sisters-in-Law: Sheryl Houston (Mansfield, TX), Donna (Jeremy) Daniels (Athens, TX), Tiffany Daniels Bartley (Longview, TX); host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and cherished friends.
Kitzy departed this life on October 13, 2024. She was passionate about voting, being an active and loving parent, continuing a lifelong love of learning, and helping others. She will be thoroughly missed, and her kind spirit will forever live in the hearts of those who loved her. Rest in peace, Mrs. Kitzy Michelle Burnett Daniels, your love, light, and wisdom will never fade.
