Karen Lee Poole (Pearson) passed away peacefully on March 16, 2016 in Leander, Texas at the age of 62. Karen was born April 16, 1953 in Austin, Texas to Thomas Milton “T.M.” Pearson and Dorothy Lee (Hyatt) Pearson.
Karen graduated from Leander High School in 1971. She then attended the University of Texas from 1971-1972, where she was a featured twirler. She was a five time State Champion and a National Champion in Twirling.
She worked as a Telecommunications Specialist for the IRS. Karen was a member of the Whitestone Assembly of God in Cedar Park. She was highly involved at her church in the Women’s Ministry and Church Game Night.
Karen was preceded in death by her daughter Summer Michael Hargett.
She is survived by her loving husband, Kurt Poole of Leander; her parents, T.M. and Dorothy Pearson of Cedar Park; her daughter and son-in-law, Misty and Tommy Lane of Leander; grandson, William Lane of Leander; and granddaughter, Laurann Lane of Leander. She is also survived by her friend and beloved caregiver, Bobbie Stone of Liberty Hill.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. She will be laid to rest beside her daughter at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
