Juan de Dios Hernandez, 72, from Austin, TX, passed away on September 23, 2016. He was born in Nuevo Ideal, Durango, Mexico on March 8, 1944. Juan had a career in facility maintenance at St. Austin Catholic School. Juan had a passion for working a lot with his hands, he often took on home DIY projects and even helped other with projects through the knowledge and experiences he gained. Juan enjoyed drawing and playing dominoes, and had a strong passion for watching the San Antonio Spurs play.
He was survived by his only daughter who loved him dearly, Jessica Fabiola Herrera. Leaving to cherish memory as well, his beloved grandchildren Isaiah Luis Herrera, Iliyah Isabella Herrera and a son in law, Jorge Luis Herrera, who looked at him as a father figure. The loss of Juan will be felt by many friends and family, he will truly be missed.
A time to celebrate his life will take place at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, TX. A viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m. followed by the rosary at 7:30 p.m.
