John was born in Emhouse, Texas and lived out his life in California and Texas. After serving in the Army Air Corp, John spent 65 years designing and building gates and fences as the owner of Guaranty Fence Company. John’s primary passion in life was to glorify God through helping and serving the needs of others. John has been behind the scene countless times helping others with everything from providing clothes on their back to a roof over their head. John loved his family and his friends, and loved his church. John was a Deacon Emeritus at Fellowship Church in Liberty Hill.
John is survived by his wife of 40 years, Diane. He also leaves behind his children, Donna, Margaret, Gail, Mary Lou, Melinda, Wade, Lana, and Rebecca, and his siblings Jesse and Anna and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank all those who provided countless acts of service during John’s illness, especially the hospice services provided by The Lighthouse in Round Rock.
Visitation will be Thursday, April 11, 2013 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and a celebration of life will be held in the Memorial Chapel of the funeral home on April 12, 2013 at 1:00 p.m.
