The family of John Ryan Kern, of Austin, is saddened to announce his passing on Sunday, March 19, 2023 at the age of 36 years. He was born on June 4, 1986 in Beaumont, Texas. Ryan loved to laugh, gave the best hugs and had the best smile. He loved his family unconditionally. Growing up, you would find him and his brother spending their weekends with Aunt Chrissy and Uncle Mazi. Together, they would enjoy going to the lake, camping, fishing or just hanging out at home having some BBQ.
Ryan spent most of his life working in restaurants. Cooking was his love language. Whether he was working in the kitchen at his job, cooking for himself or making a feast for a friendsgiving, he was a wonderful cook.
He was a hard worker, who enjoyed learning new things and working with his hands. He studied Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at ITT Technical Institute. In his spare time he would build computers, and tinker with all sorts of tech projects. Ryan also had a love for cars. He even studied auto mechanics at ACC. You may have seen him out joyriding around Austin, blaring classic rock.
Ryan will be deeply missed. He is survived by his mother, Sheryl Revere, his maternal grandmother, Evelyn Revere, his nephew, Jackson Kern, whom he adored, and numerous Aunts, Uncles, cousins, family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his father, Bryan Kern, his Pawpaw, Edward Revere, his grandmother, Nadean Kern, and his brother, Richard Kern, whom he loved and missed dearly.
