Jesus S. Cano, aged 76, of La Feria, TX, passed away peacefully in his sleep on May 22nd, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 24th, 1948, Jesse was a devout born-again Christian who dedicated his life to serving Jesus and glorifying the Lord through his obedience and faithfulness.
Jesse is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Alice; three devoted sons, James, Chris (wife Jessi), Andy (wife Shelley); nine cherished grandchildren and five adored great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Bineta Schemcik and brothers, Tony Cano, Monico Cano, and Joe Cano. He was the pillar of his family, providing unwavering support and spiritual guidance to all who knew him. He never ceased sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ to all who would listen.
Having retired from ExxonMobil after 30 years of dedicated service, Jesse was also a proud veteran who served his country with honor. He bravely completed two tours in Vietnam as a member of the 101st Airborne, Army Ranger, and Green Beret.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Jesse had a passion for gardening, spending time tending to his yard, and finding solace and joy in nature's beauty. He found his greatest happiness in the company of his family, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure.
A best friend to many, Jesse leaves behind a legacy of faith, love and friendship that will forever be cherished. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched. We who are saved by the blood of the Lamb know we will see him again in heaven. May he rest in eternal peace.
A visitation for Jesus will be held Wednesday, May 29, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, Pflugerville, Texas. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024 at 10:00 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Following the service, he will be laid to rest at the Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a reception to be held at the funeral home following the interment.
