James “Jim" Ralph Grimm, 74, of Hutto, Texas, passed away on April 28th, 2023. He was born on May 6th, 1948, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Joseph and Martha Grimm. He married Donna on June 22, 1969. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Jim graduated from Pitman High School and went on to attend Texas A+M and received a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education in 1971. He worked as a manager at Walgreens and then was the Physical Education and gymnastics coach at Webb. He then started his dream job as a teacher and coach at Reagan High School, where he coached football, wrestling, softball, track and tennis. He had the pleasure and privilege to teach and coach all four of his children. He was at Reagan from 1972-2001. Coach Grimm also taught many students to drive in drivers’ education. He was also an umpire and scheduled umpires for over 20 years.
In his free time, Jim enjoyed teaching driver's ed, dressing up as Santa during the holidays, and going on cruises all over the world! He loved to eat out with the family. He had a passion for helping others and was always willing to lend a helping hand.
He is survived by his wife, Donna Grimm, daughters Michelle Grimm, Dawn (and Garry) Reagan, Jennifer (and Beau) Brister, son Kevin (and Terri) Grimm, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Martha Grimm.
A visitation for Jim will be held on Saturday, May 6th, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., followed by a service at 4:00 p.m. All will be at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home and Cemetery in Pflugerville. Jim will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
