James "Jimmy" Odell Estes, 70, was born to Grant Odell Estes and Florence Elizabeth Cameron on October 21,1952, in San Juan, Puerto Rico while his father was in the U.S. Army. Jimmy passed away on April 10, 2023, Corpus Christi, Texas after suffering a brain hemorrhage on March 13, 2023.
Later, he selflessly gave the gift of life to others by organ donation through Southwest Transplant Alliance.
Jimmy grew up in Corpus Christi, Texas where he went graduated at King High School. He played baseball, and Little League being an amazing pitcher. Later, he spent his teenage years on the sandy beaches and learned to surf and his mother gifted him his own surfboard. After graduating high school he went to college and received a degree in computer programing. He used those skills working at several companies including CPL Electric, Twins Marine, and Schlumberger. In 2001, he retired from Champion Pontiac in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Jimmy was predeceased by his father, Grant Odell Estes.
He is survived by his loving devoted wife and eternal love of 24 years, Cheri Estes of Corpus Christi,Texas. His son, Russell Estes (Denise) of Austin, Texas; his daughter Alayna Estes of Houston, Texas; step-sons, Kenneth Lemmond (Dianna) of Corpus Christi, Texas and Frank Lemmond (Tina) of Austin, Texas. Jimmy is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. His mother, Florence Estes of Wall, New Jersey; and his brother, Cameron Estes of Tampa, Florida and a host of other relatives and friends.

A visitation for James will be held Thursday, April 20, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A funeral service will occur Friday, April 21, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. A committal service will follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
