Guy Manly Giesen

Guy was born in Austin, TX on October 25, 1955. Guy was the middle son of Frank and Betty Giesen of Austin. He graduated from McCallum High School in 1974 where he was active in sports. He married his high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Dona Blomquist Giesen, on August 31, 1974. Shortly after graduation, Guy began his apprenticeship in the ceramic tile industry where he excelled and continued to hone his skills throughout his 49 year career.

Guy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandchildren. Guy loved his Texas Country music and could usually be found wherever his favorite artist was playing. Guy enjoyed football and could be found on Saturdays and Sundays watching his two favorite teams: the Texas Longhorns and the Dallas Cowboys.

Guy is survived by his wife, Dona Blomquist Giesen of 48 years; son, Jason Giesen and wife, Rhonda; daughter, Nicole Giesen Harvey and husband Charles; his beloved grandchildren, Kenzie and Preslee Giesen, and Weston Harvey; his brother, Don Giesen, as well as a number of extended family and friends.

Guy is preceded in death by his mother, Betty Giesen; father, Frank Giesen Sr.; and brother, Frank Giesen Jr.

Visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday December 2, 2022 at Cook Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will take place the following day beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the also at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home.

Guy was a simple man, the family requests guests wear casual attire and make sure to bring your favorite memories of Guy to share. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made the following:
