Gladys Peters

Gladys grew up in Lott, Texas, graduating from Lott High School. She went on to attend Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Texas. She was employed by Texas Insurance Checking Office until her retirement.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she enjoyed fellowship and the ladies Quilting Group. She also enjoyed Quilting with the Dutch Dolls Quilting Bee and also a member of the Austin Area Quilt Guild. Gladys enjoyed playing Bunco with her neighbors and friends. She was a kind and giving person with a gentle spirit who made friends wherever she went.

Mrs. Peters will be greatly missed by those who dearly loved her. Left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Ellen Karisch; granddaughter, Kristen Doan and husband Daniel; great grandsons, Jackson and Lincoln Doan; grandson Cody Karisch; sisters, Mary Louise Menzies and Helen Dancak and husband Danny; along with a host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband Delwin D. “Sam” Peters; her parents, Herman and Mary Friudenberg; and her sister Beatrice Minter.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM, Friday, March 30, 2012 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas. Funeral Services will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, March 31, 2012 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
