Gary was a loved cousin from childhood.  My sympathies go out to you and all who were close.

Elaine, I was so sorry to read of Gary's passing.  I still remember the Zeta Eta meeting he attended with his guide dog.  I was so impressed with his strength and learning about the guide dog.  I am sorry this has happened during the holidays.  I am grateful you had the opportunity for many travels.  I am thinking of you and your family.

I had the privilege of working for Gary for a few years in the 1980s at the Texas Union.  What a great mentor and friend.  His smile.  His matching pens.  His dry wit.  And his compassion for all. Gary was a truly special man. He always had a sharp mind, a quick wit, and a positive outlook. He never let adversity get him down. He was a dedicated companion to Elaine and a wonderful godfather. I am blessed to have had him in my life. I'll always treasure his sly humor and his gentle smile! He will be sorely missed.
