Frederick “Fred” Alan Hoke, Sr., Chief Master Sargent, U.S. Air Force (Ret.), beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, was born February 14, 1934, in Leslie, West Virginia, peacefully passed away in his sleep February 27, 2023, at the age of 89.
After graduating from Smoot High School, Fred joined the U.S. Air Force at 19 years old in 1953. He proudly served his country for 22 years, retiring in 1975. His service included time in Sampson AFB, NY (November 19, 1953, to 1954), Amarillo AFB, TX (1954), Taegu and Osan AB, Korea (1954 to 1955), James Connally AFB, Waco, TX (1956 to 1962), Yokota AB, Japan (1962 to 1965), Eglin AFB, Ft. Walton Beach, FL (1965 to 1967), Ubon Ratchathani AB, Thailand (1967 to 1968), Davis-MT AFB, Tucson, AZ (1968 to 1970), Randolph AFB, San Antonio, TX (1970 to 1971), Da Nang AB, Vietnam (1971 to 1972), Dyess AFB, Abilene, TX (1972 to 1974), Bergstrom AFB, Austin, TX (1974 to 1975), Offutt AFB, Omaha, NE where he retired December 31, 1975. After his military service, he was employed by Central Freight Lines for 20 years and officially retired in the fall of 1996.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, M.O. and Ivaloo Hoke, brothers Lewis and Mike, and daughter Jill Ann Bravo.
Fred is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, married April 6, 1957, to June Hoke, son Fred Hoke, Jr (Christina), brother Eric Hoke (Anne), and sisters Sally White (Jim) and Martha Talbott (Bill). Sister-in-law Jane Neece (Art), brother-in-law Jerry Berry (deceased), his two grandchildren Jill and Chloe, and many nieces and nephews.

In place of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Fred to the American Lung Association.
A visitation for Frederick will be held Friday, March 10, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. A funeral service (to be live streamed) will occur 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 10, 2023, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas. A committal service will follow the funeral service at Oakwood Cemetery, 2124 S. 5th St., Waco, Texas 76706.
