Our Beloved ERNIE MORAN entered heaven's gates on Oct 1, 2024, at the age of 86 years old in Bertram Texas. He was born at Brackenridge Hospital Austin Texas on August 16,1938. He lived an
amazing life. He lived life to the fullest and enjoyed traveling. He and Bennie had many great trips, to Hawaii where he learned to surf. Colorado was another fun trip where he learned to ski. Wherever he wanted to go, Bennie made sure Ernie had his wish.
Bennie taught Ernie his ABC’s so he could navigate his life. He had a 4th grade education and drove all over the US without any obstacles. He could not read or write much but that did not deter him in the least. Ernie was a long-haul truck driver for cattle and went all over the US for many years. He was in the construction business, running large equipment for a lot of his time in the workforce. He worked with Brian Byrn for many years at AECO in Austin and also at JKB Construction Company where he finally retired.
Ernie loved working!! He loved helping people. Ernie loved to play TEXAS HOLDEM. He and Bennie were in Las Vegas on one of their trips and won a car! Ernie was a ladies' man but always a gentleman. He was very generous to the people he loved. He loved to fish and enjoyed Lake LBJ and Lake Travis. He loved going to the coast to fish and enjoyed the beach. Ernie loved to dance to country music, and he loved playing music until the day he left this earth.
Ernie had a heart as big as Texas! He loved his family and helped them as much as he could. He resided at Bertram Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the last two years and made many friends. He blessed a friend with a couple of his hats and asked Teresa to get little gifts for his favorite people that he was close to. Ernie was a great guy and accepted Jesus in his last years. We had amazing conversations about the afterlife as he referred to it.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Bennie Moran, his father and mother Fred and Mary Moran, his brothers Joe Everett, John Thomas and his youngest brother Liffie Moran. He is survived by 8 Nephews and 2 Nieces and many great nephews and nieces. Ernie was like a father to Bennie's children and grands. He had many people that he loved and cared for. Ernie was a great friend, and we will miss him.
We would like to thank the Bertram Nursing Facility for their loving support and care and Gwen for her loving care during these last couple of years.
We ask for you to Donate to The Heart Association in lieu of flowers in Ernie Moran's honor.
A memorial celebration of life will be held October 26, 2024 at 11:00am at Cook Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 N. Interstate 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660. We will be having refreshments after the service and celebrate Ernie’s life and request whoever wants to join us.
