Ellen graduated from Evergreen High School and moved to Austin, Texas to join her sister, Opal.
On November 2, 1956, Ellen married the love of her life, Donald E Carpenter. They had two daughters, Cheryl and Donna before Don's tragic death in January, 1964. Ellen re-married a few years later and had her third daughter, Stephanie. She was a single mother for a number of years following until she met Fred Stevenson and moved to Kingsbury, Texas where she resided until her passing.
She was a member of Maranatha Church in Luling, Texas. She had a heart for Jesus and the faith of a child. She was a prayer warrior who fought for her family through daily prayer and instilled the love of Jesus in all of her children. Ellen had a green thumb and loved to garden whether it be flowers or vegetables, she could grow just about anything. She was a bird watcher as well, delighting in hummingbirds especially. She enjoyed painting ceramics and crocheting special creations for her children and grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her children Cheryl Carpenter, Donna Carpenter Aleman and Martin Aleman, Stephanie and Brian Bloch; her twelve Grandchildren Don Michael Aleman and wife Tiffany, Aaron Aleman, Rebekah Aleman, Mitchell Bloch, Amanda Bloch, Briana Bloch, Zechariah Bloch, Daniel Bloch, Elizabeth Bloch, Stephan Bloch, and Benjamin Bloch; Great-Grandchildren Kendyl Aleman, Anthony Aleman, Charlie Aleman Cassidy, William Bloch and Jacob Bloch.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 am, Friday May 19, 2017 at Cook Walden Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
