Elaine was born November 27, 1945 to John Orvis Carpenter, Sr. and Gertrude (Foss) Carpenter and was one of eleven siblings. As a young child, she grew up in Liberty Hill, Texas, but later moved to Austin, Texas with her family where she attended Lanier High School (Austin, Texas). She had one child, Roger Leuckie, and was married to Lloyd Hamilton.
Some of Elaine's hobbies included painting, cooking, and traveling with her family. She deeply loved and enjoyed time spent with her family, her friends, and her pets. She was kind and giving to the people around her.
Elaine is survived by her son, his wife and her two granddaughters, Roger Leuckie, Jennifer Leuckie, Natalie Leuckie, Molly Leuckie; her siblings, John Walter Carpenter, Violet Floyd, Kenneth and Anne Rose Brown, Arthur and Louise Carpenter, Arthur and Gladys Stephenson, Gary and Pam Carpenter, Charles and Kathy Carpenter; many nephews and nieces; and her dog Rascal.
Elaine was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Hamilton; her father and mother, John Orvis Carpenter, Sr. and Gertrude (Foss) Carpenter; and her siblings, John Orvis Carpenter, Jr., Lorraine (Sam) Carpenter, and Jerry Carpenter.
Elaine was thankful for the care provided by First Family Healthcare, the staff at St. David's Hospital in Round Rock, the staff at Park Valley Inn Health Center, and Dr. Andy Hawthorne for the medical care and support they have provided.
A Celebration of Elaine’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 1, 2017 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery.
