He was born in Austin, Texas on January 24, 1935, to Marvin and Alma (Frentrup) Arnold. Edwin graduated from Austin High School in 1953 and served in the National Guard for five years. He worked as a master plumber for Gene’s Plumbing, where he became the manager until 2003. He married Sandra Lee Tregaskis Laszewski on October 14, 1978, and was blessed by gaining two stepdaughters, Shelli and Amy, who were cherished and spoiled by this loving man. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Pflugerville where he served on several building projects and taught Sunday School to adult couples.
Edwin loved Jesus, gardening, hunting, fishing, and Diet Coke. Edwin will be remembered by all who knew him as a kindhearted and generous man who enjoyed helping others and consistently brought laughter into a room with his many stories and “Papa-isms.”
Edwin is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Alma Arnold and his daughter, Julie Mathers. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Sandra Lee Arnold of Pflugerville, TX, his daughters, Shelli Hankins and her husband, Roger of Pflugerville, TX and Amy Ward and her husband, Mike of Gilmer, TX. He was affectionately known as “Papa” to his grandchildren, Allison Dickey and her husband Kevin of Georgetown, TX, Jonathan Hankins and his wife, Kaitlyn of Lexington, TX, Kamron Ward of Pflugerville, TX and Callie Ward of Gilmer, TX, and his great-grandchildren, Eli, Jaiden, Ryan, Addyson and John Cason.
