David Lance Jones passed away on December 28, 2023 with friends and family by his side at the age of 56. David graduated from Albertville, AL high School in 1985. He achieved many nursing certifications and was currently a CRRN (Certified Registered Rehabilitation Nurse) and MBA. Graduate from International college.
In his career in nursing and the medical field, he worked all over the country, including the Virgin Islands in many different hospitals. David spent 12 years with Encompass including CNO at Arlington, Regional CNO Trainer, and currently was CEO of Encompass Round Rock Hospital. He created an environment that felt like family yet produced some of the best performance in the company. Under David’s leadership, Round Rock won Exceptional performance Award for 2 years, Presidential Circle Award and in 2021 won Hospital of the Year Award for Encompass. His leadership style summed up in “ya just gotta love on um” he attended Mission Church. David loved family, friends, and a good laugh- but most of all, he loved the Lord.
David was preceded in death by his parents Barbara Ann and K. David Jones. He is survived by his siblings, Tony Calhoun (and wife Maureen) of Georgia; Ray Calhoun (and wife Kitty) of Alabama; Tonya Barton (and husband Gary) of Somerdale, NJ and many of his nieces and nephews .
He was cared for by many current and former colleagues and employees too numerous to mention.
A memorial service for David will be held at the Austin Marriott North (2600 La Frontera Blvd, Round Rock, TX 78681) at 3pm January 22, 2024. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in David’s name to Age of Central Texas ( Donate – AGE of Central Texas (ageofcentraltx.org)) or Mission Church (Give — Mission Church). A private family burial service will be held later in January.
