Craig Alan Burross
was born to Bobby Ray and Lois Nan Burross, who preceded him.
Craig passed away unexpectedly while away on a work trip. He traveled frequently working for Robe Lighting North America as Chief Sales Officer. His tenure at Robe lasted 10 years.
Craigs career in the entertainment lighting industry began in 1991 beginning with HighEnd Systems. His job allowed him to travel the world. The people, colleagues and clients he connected with became lifelong friends. He attended countless touring shows, theater performances, festivals, and trade shows. He was the event coordinator, entertainer and travel guide for innumerable events and trips and good luck if you could keep up. Craig had endless joy and zest for life. He made everyone feel welcome and important. He knew everyone’s name and their children’s names. This was an extraordinary gift. He was loyal and honest. Craig had a wonderful sense of humor and a jovial laugh. People loved to be around him. It’s true that the room would light up when he came in. It was his inner light.
Craig had many hobbies and interests. He loved travel, visiting beaches, golfing, collecting guitars and other musical instruments and gear. Craig started playing drums as a young boy and played through Jr. High and High school. Later, he would start a metal band, “Blitzkrieg” who were good enough to do an American tour. Craig then decided to go on to higher education in the Dallas area and received an audio engineering degree. Shortly after that he got into the lighting business. Craig was a pretty good golfer. He was fortunate to have played all over the world on some of the finest courses. He loved to play chess. As a boy he was an excellent swimmer and received dozens of awards. Several first place awards in diving. Craig enjoyed plants, gardening, and bird watching. He enjoyed hosting a good cookout and the only way to grill was on a charcoal fire. He collected Stetson hats and he had one for every season. Travel and fine food were passions that he shared with his wife Kat. Craig had excellent taste, impeccable style, and a keen attention detail. He adored his two Yorkies, Beau & LD. Beau never left his side. Craig was a cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with stage IV cancer in 2017. He fought it hard and won. He was in remission since 2021.
Craig was one of the most loving, giving, and energetic human beings you ever knew. If you got to hang out with him you were going to have a big time. He brought people together. Another of his extraordinary gifts. His big laugh and beautiful smile will be forever missed. Craig had a deep faith in God. He loved Jesus. He prayed daily and read his bible every night. Craig lived life with intention.
Craig is survived by his wife Katherine Burross, son Caden Burross, granddaughters Josephine & Fiona Burross, son Chase Anderson, daughter Paige Anderson, son Matt Anderson, brothers Dr. Steve Burross and wife Trish Burross, Terry Burross and wife Karen Burross, Kevin Burross and wife Pam Burross, mother in law Suzanne C Blandford. Brother and sister-in-law Mike and Barbara Blandford and many beloved cousins, nieces, nephews and life long friends.
