

Juanita Jo Wilcox Dickson, age 94, born January 17, 1918 in Ft. Worth, Texas, died peacefully May 26, 2012 in her home in Austin, Texas surrounded by family. She loved her Lord, her family, and her friends.
Reverend Charles William Dickson, age 97, born October 24, 1914 in Waco, Texas, died peacefully May 30, 2012 at his home in Austin, Texas surrounded by family. His love for the Lord, the word of God, and missions were important in his life, as well as his family and friends.
Juanita graduated with a BA from Howard Payne University in 1938, and Charles graduated with a BA from Hardin-Simmons University in 1938. They both graduated from Southwestern Seminary in 1941. They pastored churches in Texas and Illinois. He served as chaplain in the military from 1942 - 1946. They served as Baptist foreign missionaries to Brazil for 33 years and had been faithful members at Hyde Park Baptist Church since they retired. They were also actively involved in a Hyde Park Baptist mission action group which was named in their honor. They were married for 71 years.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents who were also Baptist missionaries to Brazil and by two sisters. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita, his parents, and siblings.
They are survived by their four daughters and sons-in-law: Helen and John Hastings, Carole and Mike Thorsrud, Janet and Dave McGinn, and Susan and Ray Waugh. Also, two grandchildren and their spouses: Kyle and Courtney McGinn, Kristy and Dave Blevins, and four great-grandchildren: Mark, June, Phillip, and Ivy May, nieces and nephews (Everett, Ed, Dorothy Jo, Ernest, Dick, Vicki Lynn, Lasandra, and Kari), and several grand nieces and nephews. Juanita is also survived by one sister, Trudie and spouse Richard Jackson.
The Memorial Service will be held at Highland Park Baptist Church, 5206 Balcones, Austin, at 2 PM on Saturday, June 16, 2012.
