Cecil Scott Brown, Jr., 89, of Austin, passed away March 15, 2012. He was born February 6th, 1923 in Hillsboro, Texas to Margaret and Scott Brown. Cecil was a Purple Heart recipient serving in World War II as a Staff Sergeant of the 836th Bombardier Squadron in the Army Air Force. He returned to Waco after the war and graduated from Baylor University. Cecil retired to Austin, Texas after 37 years at Central Freight Lines as the office manager.
Cecil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and avid golfer.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlie Jo Brown and his loving family – Daughter, Pat and husband Bill Hoover; Sons: Charles and wife Bekki Brown, Paul Brown and fiancé Jennie Dove; Grandchildren: Trey and wife Rachel Hoover; Chantz and wife Sarah Hoover, and Travis Brown; Great-Grandchildren: Lance, Jake, and Kristin Hoover; Sister, Lea Crenshaw; and loving nieces.
He is preceded in death by his brothers Jarvis and Will Brown.
Visitation will be held from 11 AM - 1 PM, Sunday, March 18,2012 at Cook-Walden Capital Parks Funeral Home and the graveside services will be held at 2 PM at Cook -Walden Capital Parks Cemetery.
