Bobbie Ann Davis, 82 years old, was born in Round Rock, Texas, on November 5, 1932 and went peacefully to her eternal home in Heaven January 30, 2015. Even after 3 long years of pain and suffering she never lost her faith through all the trials she endured.
Bobbie graduated from Round Rock High School. She also attended Mary Hardin Baylor University for only one year, but left after making a difficult decision due to an illness. She worked ten years at the Texas Highway Department in Austin as a switchboard operator, while raising seven small children at her young age. Over the years while raising her family she also taught Sunday School, Mother's Day Out, Vacation Bible School and was a camp counselor at Highland Lakes. She sang in the choir and directed some of the Children's Christmas programs at First Baptist Round Rock. Later she became the co-owner and office manager of Austin Conditioned Air service with her late husband, Ernest. In retirement, she and several other church members formed a band called Joyful Noises. The band traveled to a variety of places such as nursing homes and other churches to share the love of God. She has touched so many lives with her poetry that was inspired by God. She gave up her time unselfishly to ensure others could function in our society. She was a kind hearted, loving soul. The kind of woman that would have given you the shirt off her back.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Ernest Allen Davis, and her parents, Roy and Eunita McMurtrie. Bobbie left to celebrate her final journey to Heaven while leaving behind her surviving children, Chet Davis, Randy Davis, Kathy Walker,Terry Davis, Ricky Davis, Gayle Rocha, Bobby Davis and their spouses. Along with 13 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, a sister Roylene Monahan, a brother Bill McMurtrie and a host of other family and friends. We were blessed to have such a loving and caring Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. Pure at heart with God's love for everyone, she will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church Round Rock, 306 Round Rock Avenue, Round Rock, TX 78664.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bobbie's memory to First Baptist Church Round Rock (Bible Fund).
