Betty Jo Johnson, 92, of Georgetown, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, left for her heavenly home on December 20, 2022. Betty was born in Austin, Texas to Roy H. and Vivian Lyckman Johnson, both having predeceased her.
Betty graduated from Austin High School in 1948. She worked for the Austin Independent School District until her retirement in 1990. She was a lifetime member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church, Austin, Texas.
Betty’s family was always the most important thing in her life. Those surviving her are her brother, Raymond Johnson and wife, Marilyn, of Bastrop; her sister Marilyn Gillett of Garland; her daughters, Vickie O’Bannon of Georgetown, Rae Ann Goodman of Lago Vista, (Steve Goodman, Tyler), and Debra Henninger of Nampa, Idaho; 6 grandchildren; and 8 great grandchildren.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. The funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 28th also at the funeral home with Pastor Karl Gronberg of Gethsemane Lutheran Church officiating. Betty will then be eternally laid to rest in Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Cemetery in Pflugerville, Texas.
Pallbearers are Steve Goodman, Brad Goodman, Dean Goodman, Eric Goodman, Carson Bond, and Alan Johnson.
