In the spring of 1976, Barbara proudly graduated from John H. Reagan High School in Austin, Texas. Her pursuit of higher education led her to Austin Community College. In 1980, she embraced the union of marriage, and a year later welcomed a beautiful daughter, Monique.
Barbara's career path unfolded as she embarked on a journey into teaching at the Austin State School. Her dedication and expertise later found a home in Region XIII, where she continued to make significant contributions. This unwavering commitment persisted until her well-earned retirement in 2010.
Her retirement marked a profound shift as Barbara chose to devote her time wholeheartedly to providing loving, full-time care to her mother. This selfless act beautifully exemplified her deep commitment to her family.
She enjoyed traveling to casinos in various locations with family and friends, and most of all spending time with her only daughter. She was also an incredibly proud and loving grandmother to her beautiful granddaughters Kameron and Evann.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents Matthew and Sallie Priestley, sister Virginia Anderson, and brother Albert Priestley.
Survivors include her loving daughter, Monique Flukers of Pflugerville, Texas; son-in-law Lemar Flukers; and two granddaughters, Kameron and Evann. Three brothers, Matthew Priestley Jr. (Sylvia); Charles Priestley (Betty); Lewis Priestley(Sherri), and one sister, Julia Priestley Williams. Barbara also leaves behind nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.
