Arthur W. Billings

Arthur William Billings, Jr., known by his friends and family as Art, was born and raised in Cambridge, Maryland. It was there that he obtained a love of the ocean and sailing that he carried with him the rest of his life. After completing a tour of service with the Navy, he began a long and successful career with IBM and later, Lockheed Martin.

Of all of his numerous accomplishments, his proudest was his family. He married Katherine Kuhn in November 1970 and had two children, Alex and Kellie. Ever the family man, he loved family vacations to Ocean City, Maryland. Christmas was always his favorite time of year, and he kept that spirit all year long. Art will be remembered for his gentle spirit, thoughtfulness, and good humor. The world is certainly a better place for him having been here.

A memorial service will be held in the Memorial Chapel at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville, Texas at 6:00 pm, Thursday, September 12, 2013.
