Amelia Riojas Rios of Pflugerville, Texas, a member of St. Helen’s Catholic Church, Georgetown, Texas, passed away on July 8, 2022. She was born December 20, 1929 in Pflugerville, Texas to parents Crispina Ortegon Riojas (deceased) and Jim Riojas (deceased.)
She was married to Reginald Rios (deceased), and is survived by her daughter Rosanna Rios Lenzi and son-in-law Patrick of Leander, Texas; her grandchildren Anthony Enrico Lenzi and wife Ashley, of Hutto, TX, and AnaMaria Angelina Lenzi of Leander, TX; and great-grandchildren Jenna Alyisa Lenzi, Emma Clair Lenzi, and Olivia Grace Lenzi of Hutto, TX . She is preceded in death by her brothers Morris Riojas, Lupe Riojas, Frank Riojas (and his wife Margie) of Georgetown, TX, and her sisters Lola Olguin and Christina R. Rodriquez. Special sisters include Carmen R. Gonzales (deceased) and Mary R. Castillo (deceased), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Amelia was employed by The Steck Company for fifteen years, before moving to Memphis, Tennessee with her husband and daughter, where she devoted her time to being with her family. During those sixteen years, she volunteered with school activities and The Ava Maria Guild of Memphis, Tennessee. Upon their return to Austin in 1980, she was the property manager of the Guadalupe Neighborhood Corporation. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling and being with friends and family.
The family would like to thank the staff at Pflugerville Heath Care Center, hospice caseworker Sandra Treman, hospice nurse Beverly, and the staff at Traditions Hospice for their compassionate care for Amelia.
A visitation for Amelia will be held Monday, July 18, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate 35, Pflugerville, TX 78660. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. William Catholic Church on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., with a burial at Central Texas State Veteran's Cemetery to follow that afternoon.
