On June 23rd, 1962, Alma Ja'Nelle (Nell) was born to Homer Sr and Barbara Bradshaw in the town of Giddings, Texas. Ja'Nelle was the fourth of seven children. The family attended South End Church of Christ where she obeyed the gospel at an early age. Ja'Nelle enjoyed singing with the youth from neighboring Churches of Christ under the name of the Crusaders for Christ. She graduated from Giddings high school in 1981 where she excelled in track, basketball, and choir.
Ja'Nelle later moved to Austin, Texas where she was married and from that union had 3 beautiful daughters Kyra Lyndsey, Jordana Lynn, and Kestan Rozannia.
Ja'Nelle was employed with the Attorney General’s Office (Child Support Division) and retired after 30 years of service. It was there she developed a passion for American Sign Language. Ja'Nelle devoted her time to teaching and serving others (schools, churches and community functions) with this gift. She also taught CPR and started a bookkeeping service.
Ja'Nelle later met, fell in love, and wed the love of her life, Andre A. Gladney. The two of them enjoyed traveling together to places such as Hawaii, Antigua, and the Bahamas. Together they started A & J's Gourmet Connection catering service. Ja'Nelle enjoyed outgoing activities such as gardening, learning how to swim, and zip lining. She enjoyed shopping and frequently donated to Louis Vuitton and Gucci.
Ja'Nelle recently took up a position with Pflugerville Independent School District as a Substitute teacher and later a Teacher’s Assistant to special needs children.
Ja'Nelle is proceeded in death by her late husband Ronald Dames. Her legacy continues with her husband Andre, daughters Kyra (Chris Huff), Jordana (Khaulief Cheeks) and Kestan Riddell. Lolli's pride and joy, her grandchildren, Jaaxton, Aniyah Arie, and Kariyah, Godson Steven Coleman Jr. Parents Homer Sr and Barbara Bradshaw. Siblings Carolyn Greene (Melvin), Renita Cleveland, Floyd Bradshaw (Shirley), Homer Bradshaw Jr (Marilynn), Vicki Russell, and Doris Hoffman (Jack), Father-in-law Aldus Gladney, Brothers-in-law Burnett Gladney and Alphonsus Gladney, Sister-in-law Valrie Gladney, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends whose lives she touched along her journey.
