I was very sorry to learn of Bill's death. I first met him at a cemetery in Perth, Ontario when he was hosting a ceremony for a War of 1812 ancestor of his in 2012 .  Since that time we have kept in contact via email. Sorry again. Karen Prytula

The Volunteers at Archives Lanark wish to express their heartfelt sympathy with the loss of Bill.  We were going through his latest donation this past Friday and were greatly saddened when the next day we learned of his passing.

Bill has added greatly to the Archives Collections and we are in the process of creating a collection fonds in his memory.

I'm sorry to hear of Bill's passing,He was very generous to Archives Lanark ,donating an amazing amount of historical material on the schools in North Sherbrooke where his mother taught as well as other valuable items from the history of our County.
You could always count on him to come up with details that helped us document our local history and we will miss his visits.

I met Bill a few years ago during some Lanark County genealogy research and discovered he had grown up near the old Gemmill's School and myself having grown up in Elphin, we knew several people in the area. Excellent knowledge of local history.

Bill was a long time member of the Lanark County Genealogical Society having joined in 1987. He was very proud of his Lanark County roots and was always happy to share information about his ancestors. Most recently he made contributions to our Lanark County Routes book and purchased several  for his family. He insisted on picking them up in Lanark village at the Era. I think he wanted to visit with Gena!! He was a lovely man who will be very much missed by the genealogy community.
