Peacefully , at Fairhaven Long Term Care on April 23, 2021 in his 98th year. Beloved spouse of the late Iris Mary McConnell (nee Lawrie) for 57 years. Loving father of Janet Harris (Peter). Proud grandfather of Lydia and Amelia.
Born in Toronto on April 3rd 1924, Tom was the only child of Wesley Baker McConnell and Margery Melbourne Wright. He enlisted in the RCAF in 1942 and actively served at various units in Canada and overseas. Following WWII, he certified as a licensed Journeyman (plumbing). He rejoined the RCAF in 1953 and served in France, England and throughout Canada as an Aero-engine Technician.
Upon retirement, Tom enjoyed renovating numerous properties, travelling with his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
In keeping with Tom’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff of Fairhaven Long Term Care for their kindness and care.
