With a heavy heart, we must announce the passing of Skyler Christou on Saturday, August 24, 2024 in Peterborough. Skyler was a remarkable young man who, at just 28 years old, left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
Skyler was one of those rare souls whose presence could light up a room. He had a sweetness about him, a gentle kindness that radiated from every interaction. Whether he was with friends or even strangers, it was impossible not to be touched by his warmth. His smile, his giggles—those were the sounds that could brighten even the darkest of days.
But it wasn’t just his kindness that made Skyler so special; it was his ability to keep us all on our toes with his sense of humor. He had a unique way of making life feel lighter, reminding us not to take things too seriously. In a world that can often feel heavy and overwhelming, Skyler was a breath of fresh air, a beacon of laughter and love. His sense of humor was his gift to all of us, a way of bringing joy even in the most unexpected moments. He could find the fun in any situation, and he shared that joy freely, making sure that we all felt a little lighter, a little happier, just by being around him.
Skyler also had a deep love for his stuffies, whom he cherished and took care of with the same tenderness he showed to everyone in his life. They were a reflection of his gentle spirit, a small but significant part of the way he nurtured the world around him.
Skyler was a reminder of the beauty in simply being yourself—in kindness, in laughter, in embracing who you are with open arms. He made the world a brighter, softer place just by being in it, and that’s a gift we will carry with us forever.
Skyler came in to the care of Margaret and the late William Jackson at the age of 5 and lovingly referred to them as Mom & Papa. Skyler also touched many souls in the Life Share program, we are better to have known him. Your light will never fade, and your spirit will live on in the love and laughter you brought to all of us. We will cherish you always.
Friends will be received at the COMSTOCK-KAYE LIFE CELEBRATION CENTRE on Tuesday, September 10th from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. followed by a service in the chapel at 11:00 a.m. with a reception afterwards. A private interment will be held at a later date.
