Sandra Eleanor Chaplin

Peacefully at Peterborough Regional Health Centre, on Friday, July 29, 2016 in her 65th year. Beloved wife and best friend of William “Bill” Chaplin for 32 years. Loving, supportive mother and friend of Tina Smelt (Dan), Tammy Weinczok (Mike) and step-mother of Angie Chaplin, Sarah Jane Pomeroy (Blaine) and Ryan Chaplin (Nicole). Proud grandmother of Dustin, Kalie, Brandon, Jürgen, Emma, Matthäus, Mariah and Ty. Dear sister of Carol Embelton (Les) and Phil Emery (Marilyn). Predeceased by her parents Irwin and Eleanor Emery. Survived by her mother-in-law Verna Chaplin and pre-deceased by her father-in-law Gerald. Lovingly remembered by many nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends. Sandy loved the outdoors, gardening and feeding the deer, small animals and birds around her home. An artist at heart, Sandy was an avid crafter, folk-painter and knitter. In keeping with her wishes cremation has taken place and a private family memorial service will be held in the fall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Children’s Wish Foundation, Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by her family.
