born May 18, 1935, in Belfast, Northern Ireland died peacefully at Tyndall Seniors Village in Mississauga on September 14, 2022. He was the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Patterson) Martin. Survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Eugenia (Shasko). Dear father of Erinne, Keli and Melissa. Father-in-law of George Adams, Neil Brokenshire and Stephen Elliot. Proud grandfather of Madison and Tyler Brokenshire. Predeceased by his sister Ellen (Joe Thompson) and brother Bill. Survived by his sister-in-law Florence. Ron arrived in Canada in 1957. He worked for Arrowhead Metals for many years. He was also a longtime member of the R.C.L. Branch 3 and 582. Ron's soccer skills were appreciated by many children in after school programs. He was awarded The Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal for his significant contributions to the community. Our family wants to thank Tyndall Seniors Village for their support and care over the past years. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ron's honour can be made to the Heart and Stroke foundation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, October 16, 2022, in Peterborough.
