 Mum and I first got to know Ron and Hilda years ago at Royal Gardens, and were happy to see them again when mum moved to Extendicare Lakefield.  With his spirit and dry sense of humour, Ron could always put a smile on my face!  
Mum too has recently left us, and I know that, no matter how long and good the life, it's never easy to say goodbye.  My sincere condolences to Hilda and family.

I first met Ron Gardiner while with my father Barry Fee,  who was a friend of Ron. 
While I was in high school, I had Ron for one of my advisors while I was in Junior Achievement.
During university I had a summer job at Sears with Ron Gardiner being my supervisor .

My condolences to Hilda, Kathryn, Nancy and family from my dad, Barry Fee ((deceased,)  My dad and Ron were best friends for 70 years  or more.

He was one of my dad's best friends and quite a unique character and will be missed by family and friends of Ron.

Dear Hilda,

I was very saddened to hear of Ron's passing. We first met when I was driving the shuttle bus for the Gardens a few years back. We hit it off right away. How could you not with Ron? When I arrived in the morning to review the list of passengers for the days run, I was always happy to see Ron's name on it. If it was a slow day, we would go to a parking lot ( Tim Horton's of course) and have a chat about his life experiences, family, politics, and of course, religion. He being United, and me, a Catholic, he was always quick to tell me I was going to the wrong church. He had a wonderful sense of humour,  was kind, compassionate, and had a true love of family. He will be greatly missed.
He was one of the good guys.
Hilda, you Ron and your family, are in my prayers.

Ron and Hilda were our neighbours on Elgin Street, East City when we moved in 2000. Ron loved his gardens and we were blessed with the fruit and veggies of his labour. Great people. Ron will be missed. What a great life and to be married to Hilda for 72 years is amazing. 

I remember the fun that was had with the Junior Achievement held above the Silver Moon Restaurant on George St.  He was, at the time being the only person given a five year badge from the governors of the local JA Peterborough.  He will be missed.  All my best to the family

My condolences to Ron’s family. I knew Ron because I worked at Sears in the late 60s. He was the manager of the large white appliances then. I worked in the lighting and small appliances. Looking back to that time there were many wonderful people who worked there. Ron was one of that group.  So happy to have known him. We had many pleasant conversations. Please know that there will be many others that will remember him fondly too.
